The Medical Engineering Development and Innovation Center (MEDIC) is a research center dedicated to the development and transfer of new technologies aimed at solving medical needs and biomedical research. MEDIC is part of the Electronics and Communications Technology Department at the Engineering School of the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). UAM is the second largest university of Madrid and is systematically ranked among the top 5 universities of Spain.
At MEDIC we are experts in different medical technologies. We have wide experience in preclinical and clinical medical imaging, including complete systems design and development, with a successful track record of international technology transfer actions. More specifically, we are experts in Positron Emission Tomography, X-ray Computed Tomography, and different optical modalities.
MEDIC participates in MOSAIC through its sensors division, which is focused on the invention, development, and transfer of innovative optoacoustic imaging/sensing devices tailored to address major clinical needs.
